Summary

During the CIA’s MKULTRA days the Agency employed sleight of hand magician John Mulholland (1898 – 1970) for consultation work. Mulholland had had a long career helping the US government (his book The Art of Illusion had been downsized to fit in the pockets of servicemen during World War II). The heads of MKULTRA wanted to use the magician’s art in the espionage trade.

The following memo discusses Mulholland’s tax deductions and whether or not to claim the money paid him by the CIA.
