Summary
This short paper briefly discusses the pioneering efforts of Jacques-Joseph Moreau de Tours (1804 – 1884), a Victorian Era cannabis researcher. Moreau was one of the first psychiatrists to hypothesize that chemically-induced states of madness could offer insights into mental disease.
Herein, Russo hopes for a resurgence of this kind of experimental therapy in the modern age.
